I've been working in video production since I graduated college in 1986. My first job was an AV flunky in hotels, setting up flip-charts and humping cable - it evolved from a humble start, into a career as a videographer and producer. My first camera was a Sony M3A, which had saticon tubes and an outboard 3/4" inch tape deck! My first edit system as an Amiga Toaster rigged between two SVHS decks. My clients included aluminum siding swindlers who all went to jail and later small and medium pharmaceutical companies. I did a painful hitch during the recession shooting weddings - a vaguely traumatic experience. If I ever go to another wedding again, shoot me.

After a multi-year break from the stress of video production (which included being a graduate student in Buddhist Studies in the UK, staring at a wall for 10 hours a day in a temple in Burma, teaching English in Bangkok and being a Quality Control Manager in a outsourcing firm in New Dehli) I began to experiment with producing and selling stock footage in 2008. Since I no longer have clients as I used to know them, I don't have to write florid descriptions of my career here which may or may not be true. I never liked the business part of business, but I love being a photographer! It continues to interest and engage me. I consider myself a lucky man. I make a living now selling stock video and with a sideline as a news videographer.

I have an A.A. in Visual Communications Technology and a B.A. in Film and Video. I have occupied so many roles in the video food chain I can't remember them.

Since 2001 I have lived in England, Guatemala and Thailand. I speak an upper intermediate level Thai and can function in Spanish. I love good Martinis or even a Manhattan. Drop me a line if you are in Bangkok and buy me one!
