Herd of chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) running and playing in its natural environment, spring, italian Alps. Female chamois and their young live in herds. Generally the battles between chamois are not cruel, in that outweighs the psychological effect on physical contact. Younger males are very playful and through the game they learn rituals which they will use in the fighting when they become adults. The clashes take place mainly for the attention of unmated females during the rut (mating season) in late november in Europe and for the defense of the territory.
