A close up shot of one of the most prevalent of water snakes, the midland water snake. In this video you can clearly see vertical line markings along his jaw line below the mouth, an identifying feature of many related harmless water snakes, making them easy to distinguish from the venomous water moccasin, who does not have these markings.
