Description
Infrastructure in Japan is one of the best developed in the world. Congestion in some cities is not uncommon but usually doesn’t last that long. Road transport for passengers expanded considerably during the 1980s as private ownership of motor vehicles greatly increased along with the quality and extent of the nation's roads.
Gion is a district of Kyoto, Japan, originally developed in the Middle Ages, in front of Yasaka Shrine. The district was built to accommodate the needs of travelers and visitors to the shrine. It eventually evolved to become one of the most exclusive and well-known geisha districts in all of Japan. It is one of the main tourist areas in Kyoto, and Japan in general.
