About the Footage

Earth rotates and unfolds into a map. We see it is approximately 200 million years ago in the age of the dinosaurs and there is one supercontinent. Its name was Pangea. The animation progresses to the modern day, and the continents are in the position as we now know them. Antarctica stretches out in the animation due to its migration to the South Pole and the resultant effect of showing something from a circular globe on a flat map. NASA image used for the earth.
