Located in the heart of Buenos Aires' Recoleta district, La Recoleta Cemetery was designed by French architect Prospero Catelin. Redesigned by Italian architect Juan Antonio Buschiazzo, there are nonetheless many different styles of architecture within, making it a wonderful study area for diverse disciplines. Most of the burial sites are kept up, but some have been left to the fates, causing a diverse picture of afterliving care in Buenos Aires. Eva Peron is interred here, along with hundreds of potentates, generals, and wealthy patriarchs.
