Description
Elkmont is an area located inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park which straddles the Tennessee and North Carolina borders. Historically, Elkmont started out as a logging community that later became a summer retreat for the surrounding communities. Some of the old houses remain along the sides of the Little River hiking trail.
