Description
Wide shot of peat sods in the rain after harvesting in Kerry County, Ireland.
Peat or turf is decayed vegetative matter which is harvested as an energy source. Sods are cut vertically out of a marsh or bog. These sods are placed in piles and left to dry, eventually being used as fuel for power stations or heating homes.
