Description
Fuente del Tribunal de las Aguas (Water Court fountain, Turia fountain) at the Plaza de la Virgen square in Valencia. The fountain is not "at its best", but some water drops from the "tub". The background features the basilca Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados (left) and a part of the backside of the cathedral (right).
This 1976 fountain has been created by the spanish sculptor Manuel Silvestre Montesinos. It represents the Turia river and its 8 inflows and indicates the singular Tribunal de las Aguas (Water Court) of Valencia, held weekly outside the cathedral since around 1000 years.
