Cruising the inside passage of western Canada and south eastern Alaska the Alaska State Ferry stops at many cities. The Alaska cities or towns we stopped at are Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Juneau, and Haines. Unlike the cruise ships that usually spend no more than 8 hours in each port we were able to spend a week or more.
Salmon at the fish hatchery in Juneau swim past a viewing window as they go up the ladder to be spawn. The fish are the loaded back onto a boat and taken a short distance to a cannery to be processed for food.
