Oenothera glazioviana, or the large flowered evening primrose, is one of the fastest opening flowers on the planet. Typically a flower can open inside one minute. Time lapse reveals how many open and die very quickly. Evening primrose oil is often taken to alleviate asthma, and as a general sedative.
