Description
Traffic at the Siegestor (Victory Gate) in Munich, around midday. Backside view from Ludwigstrasse boulevard. This 1852 gate is a landmark of the city and also a peace memorial. During its reconstruction after World War II, an inscription has been added which reads: "Dem Sieg geweiht, vom Krieg zerstört, zum Frieden mahnend" (dedicated to victory, destroyed by war, reminding of peace).
