The Cliff House San Francisco Bay Circa 1960 (Vintage Film Home Movie). The Cliff House is a restaurant perched on the headlands on the cliffs just north of Ocean Beach on the western side of San Francisco, California. Cliff House has had five major incarnations since its beginnings in 1858. The Cliff House became part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in 1977. The Cliff House was first built towards the end of the nineteenth century and has been rebuilt twice due to fire damage, but the current structure has been in place since the early twentieth century.
