one of those middle eastern lamps ...
"alladins lamp"
Note: the top of this clip has natural camera grain, but the bottom does not. Thats because the bottom half is a still picture. I had a lit candle, and I disguised it with a still. I didn't want to actually light the lamp, its very old, and I don't have any oil anyway.
This type of lamp is used as a symbol of education because arabic scientists in the past were known for staying up late at night reading with the light from these lamps. Arabic scientists were also the most advanced in the world in the past. Thats why this type of lamp is often depicted on diplomas etc.
