The American White Pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) makes its winter home on the Salton Sea of Southern California's Mojave desert. These huge birds glide over the salty water in quest of it's favorite Salton Sea Meal, the Tilapia, a common Salton Sea Fish. The Salton Sea is a critical ecosystem that is in great peril and me soon be gone if corrective action is taken quickly.
