This slumbering giant of a mountain protects and creates the arid desert to the east. San Jacinto is one of the three highest mountains in Southern California, know as one of the "Three Saints", San Jacinto, San Gorgonio and San Antonio. Imagery shot January 2008 from the Palm Springs area.
