Marilyn Monroe

(7)

Marilyn Monroe is an Archival Icon who used her platform for change. Marilyn Monroe was an avid activist for the Civil Rights Movement and for Women's Rights. She used her spotlight to speak her mind and stand up against injustices. She even helped fellow women artists; in 1955 Monroe helped Ella Fitzgerald book a Jazz Club that had previously refused the singer. Marilyn Monroe is an important reminder of the change you can accomplish when you use your voice.
