Albert Einstein

On March 14, 1879, Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany. A brilliant physicist, Einstein made extraordinary contributions to quantum mechanics and our understanding of the universe with his theories of special and general relativity. In 1921, he won the Nobel Prize for Physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect. Einstein was also an active anti-racism activist in the United States, drawing parallels between the anti-Semitism he himself had experienced in Nazi Germany and the experience of Black Americans in the United States.
