Blender files( with .blend extension) should be allowed as Blender got stable and most importantly is going to be adopted by a major game studio.

Read the OP here: Blender to be used by a major game studio

Quote from that: one of the major 3D studios (game content creation) and they are planing to switch to blender from 3Ds max COMPLETELY in the next few months! The transition has begun!

Besides being a free application, Blender has more many advantages and is being used by a lot of small companies not to mention freelancers and other professionals. You should definitely include blender files on your accepted file formats.

Has this story been substantiated with the name of the major studio?

Blender is a great app. I use it very often. Not to mention that if you are on a different computer you can download and install it instaneous.

It looks like 3d section is orphaned. There are threads unanswered for quite a long time.

I would LOVE for blender to become accepted by major firms.
I prefer it over max for many reasons, but the top ones are:
-Extreme speed while modeling (all of the actions are based on hotkeys and easy to learn)
    -Small installation
    -It starts up insanely fast!

Let us hope for this to come true.

I'm not impressed with how they are going about implementing 3D on the site. Sad that they don't take advice from us.

After a horribly long hiatus, I'd like to be the one taking advice from you guys regarding building out the 3D marketplace. Recently joined the 3D front and will help influence production direction and community engagement. There's tons of room to grow and learn so hope you're still up for it.
