Pond5 Joins The Shutterstock Family

Ryan 13 May 2022 19:56
Hi folks, we've been following the forum discussion over the past two days and we'd like to address a few of the most common questions / concerns:

First, Pond5 will continue to operate as a standalone marketplace with the same exact team, strategy, and focus.

Second, we have no immediate plans to update our Contributor Agreement or any other policies (and neither does Shutterstock).

Third, the combined reach of the two marketplaces is truly unprecedented and over time, we will look for opportunities for content to be accessible to as many customers as possible. In the near term, our focus is on capturing opportunities with larger Enterprises and in the Editorial content category in particular, where we plan to build on our combined leadership in Editorial video and images across both sites.

Finally, the forum is not going anywhere! Please continue to share your thoughts about this news and anything else on your mind.

Cheers,

Will Shutterstock sales team be working with Pond5 sales team to facilitate very high price premium license a buyer pays about $1,000 for a 4k clip like they do on Shutterstock? Also, does "Editorial content" include editorial clips from us regular contributors or only the premium editorial partners such as Reuters, PA Media and British Movietone?

How about GPP partners? Will Adobe Stock and Alamy eliminated from GPP? Will our clips on Pond5 show up on Shutterstock in future?

Let those ten cent royalties pour in! Oh boy! Is there no escape from the race to the bottom?
