Cannot edit pending clips

Cannot access (useful for copy and paste simular clips), is this a bug?

I'm able to edit them, in the same way as I can edit ones I haven't submitted. I'm not sure if edits are saved, although it appears to save them. Are you aware of the menu at the top under Status where you can select "pending"?

An easier way to copy all metadata from any clip (pending or online) to a new one is to go to "needs edits" (under Status), tick the boxes on the far right of any clips you want to copy metadata to, then at the bottom of the page under Actions, select "Copy metadata from item". Then find the clip you want to copy from in the drop-down list.

Make sure you go in to each clip then and check it's worked before submitting, and watch for the price as there is a bug that causes prices no often not copy over correctly.

Now I'm not able to edit pending clips in the way I described above.

I noticed some strangeness a week ago or so when trying to edit clips prior to submitting them for review. I would tick the box on right of certain clip then click the edit button for that clip - but it would then bring up a clip different from the one I had selected. Only seemed to happen with seemingly random clips.

Maybe it's just a temporary glitch for both our issues. I often think of keywords after submitting and it's helpful to simply hit the edit button to update them. When I do that now, it's as if I've clicked the thumbnail and I see the same as a customer sees without the ability to edit.

In general, you can't edit clips when they're pending review.

Unless I'm mistaken in the past I've fairly frequently edited clips in "Pending" status.

When I have another batch to submit I''ll pay closer attention.

@PCDMedia: I agree, you certainly can (or could) edit once they're pending. I tried a test of that the other week just to make sure my edits were remembered, and they were.

This functionality has changed over the years, as your experiences have shown! Currently it is not possible to edit clips when they're pending review.
