Someone asked me if I could do anime, I tried but I was unable to do it. He ended up using some public domain thing. He might want it again in the future, so if anyone can do it Ill point him in your direction.
Anyway.... do you all think there is any serious demand for anime stock footage? Its a huge market not just in Japan. I might try to do it again.
Here are some of my drawings:

Couldn't quite get it to animate well though...
I used to always think anime was kind of dumb, but I did see an anime movie and it was OK, the name was in japanese though...

I would think it would be good, I would watch fist of the north star to help get you in the mood. There are all sorts of different anime types out there I'm sure you know that... Not sure what style to do but if you thinking about doing allot with char I will say that it's very time consuming. I had some projects doing it back in my juice days (3D not cell) and even though we used the same char with simple props it took a long time. The anime backgrounds might work out the super speed flying dragon ball Z stuff when it looks like only a few frames played in a strobe effect, or some thing with comic book style to it maybe classic batman POW! SMACK! stuff...

cool! Ill watch north star.
I also like the animation they did for the movie "Heavy Metal" although thats not really anime. lol if you don't know that movie is, its the movie they were paroding in southpark when kenny was cheesing. The lady flying on the dragon thing and the cars flying in space is all from that movie. lol

If you want to watch some messed up stuff I mean really, really messed up stuff find a DVD series called Legend of the over fiend all sub titles, sick sick flick... I loved it.
I have never seen all of the original Heavy Metal movie, bits and pieces here and there. An of coarse the Cheesing episode of SP, was one of my favorites. Just when you think they are done, they are doing some thing new and more messed up then the other stuff.

I know that in the adult industry Anime is one of the highest priced and very specialized sellers. A few years back I met a lady that pretty much owned the market of importing that stuff - when she told me what kind of money was involved I was blown away. It is a fetish in that industry. The weird thing was I met her at a non-adult event from VideoMaker in Burbank years ago. Then again at the AVN show in Vegas a year later. The rocks she was wearing on her fingers definitely got bigger over that short of a time. :) Based on that, my wild guess would be that anime might be a decent money maker.

I loved that southpark episode too, I also like that song "takin a ride" by Don Felder (the theme song.)
lol I know what your talking about, anime porn is called "Hentai," I don't know much about Hentai or other adult industry stuff, I kinda know a few former porn stars but they wont tell me their porn names! lol! They are very feely touchy people, I guess they have lost their sense of personal boundries.

Yeah I have met some strippers outside of work and some of them let it all hang out when they go out, kind of weird. I have not met any porn stars former or current, the way stripping seems to mess with girls minds I'm not sure I want to meet one. I did know one guy that I went to school with that tried to get into the porn industry, not sure how far he made it, must not have been very far though he was back in school when I was a lab instructor a few years later.
Yeah that is a good song.

They seem nice enough, the one girl I know curses a LOT lol she curses like a sailor, she is very intelligent though... which seems odd because you would think porn stars or strippers might be dumb. I think shes funny, but sometimes other people are offended by her language. Supposely a lot of former porn stars try to work as actresses in B-movies.
Women who JUST do nude pictures (for playboy or whatever) don't seem warped at all, they seem perfectly normal in their behavior.
Michelle Manhart and Teresa Noreen are both very nice, organized, smart, and normal people. Ive never met any strippers though...

I think because playboy and higher scale stuff look for real girls I grew up with a girl that got a proposal from them and she was just a normal girl, smart the works...

Did you try using Flash to animate the drawings? I find you have more control over static images in flash.
You just have to be sure to create everything on seperate layers in illustrator and then control the animation layer by layer
