Where oh where did they go?

A week or so ago 27 clips were approved but only 8 are searchable by public search though they show as being on line under my account. About half an hour ago my wife had 10 approved and they all show up for public search.

A couple months ago I also had a large group that did not make it on the system after approval. I asked the question but got no answer. I think that was the only time it happened to me.

Some show up using different key works that are relevant to all clips. I guess it's just a search engine bug.

Heya guys,

If you've got clips that don't seem to be showing up on line, drop us a line in customer service with the clipIDs. We'll take a look and make sure everything looks good.

I don't know if this would be the case for you guys or not, but in the past when I've seen this issue it's been that the clips were marked as "sensitive content" so they didn't appear to be showing up, since you need to select that option in the advanced search options for that content to appear.

But if the clips in question shouldn't be marked like that, then it may be something else. Either way, we'll be happy to investigate.

Thank you Jonathan and engineer, Today I learned that the location city name is not searchable to the buyer, so I put the town name in the key words.

What?? The location city is not searchable ... that's crazy? Why not?

P5 can we get an updated current public notice in the forum telling us what is searchable and what is not. We as Artists can then better meet the needs of buyers.

City, country are important Keywords... Different spelling, short form etc of city as well, Don't miss it in the Keyword area.

patuwe97 is correct, and that's actually how it's always been at Pond5.

In speaking with our developers about this, many of us said we think it should be searchable. I mean, it just makes sense, right?

It sounded like there was an obstacle or limitation of some sort that was keeping us from making that possible, but we're going to look into it again now. :)

Dang so after all these years I need to go back and input City, States and Countries into 16,000 clips and keywords now. Indeed these locations are every bit or more important than many other "filler" keywords.

For example if a buyer only wants a urban traffic scene from Timbuktu they should not have to wade through thousands of clips from New York City to find the clip in Mali they need.

Having to put it into the "City" block and then again in the description and keywords is triple triplication, a waste of time and data storage.

Are there any other data input blocks that we have to fill that are not included in searches also?

Please keep us informed.

Thanks for the communication and updates Jonathan!

It could be very useful to make the "Personal notes" text box searchable as well.
