Canon 4K Cameras

I know the XC10 has been known about for a while and the C300 MK II has been much talked about but here are the details:

The XC10 looks really interesting as a "pocket" camera at the moment - after next week, who knows!

Still a shame the C300 doesn't go above 30p at 4K - a lot of talk is of higher frame rates for 4K services (especially sport).

At this price point it would be an excellent choise if it offered excheangable lens mount, or it would be at least decent if the fixed lens was constant f-stop.
But like this?Nope.
1600gbp for a cut-down smaller version of the original C100 with super16 sized sensor and a fixed mediocre lens?
Canon is having a laugh right now im sure.

P.S Dear Canon Im pissed off at you for the C100-C300 price drop. (points gun to head and pulls trigger, blood all over the scattered sony and panasonic brochures on the floor)

XC10 looks interesting ...... for stock video only. According to this it records 4k at 205 mbs all intra 4.2.2 and at 305 mbs.

It does not shoot raw photos. Does it?
Does it have continuous AF during video shooting?

It shoots raw in "photo mode" only. Stills extracted from 4k video are JPG. And it does have continuous AF during video shooting.

I'm looking at it primarily as a cam for journalism, since I'm doing a ton of news work these days.

Anyone find weight or dimensions? XC10 might make a good 4K aerial solution. (my rig is suitable for an NEX7 with the stock zoom lens or similar, depending on weight and physical dimensions)

B&H has all the specs. I looked at the weight and if you don't mind carrying a brick around fine. It's 10 pounds.
gcrook 10 Apr 2015 20:52
10 pounds is the shipping weight of the box.It should actually be at least half the weight of the C100 but who knows.
I can see this camera being used in drones or in the same gimbals designed to carry lighter cameras.
Apart from that i cant really see why would someone use this for stock or news/docu work as A camera. As B yes maybe.

Pocket camera Lumix DMC LX100 shoots 4k/100mbs/mp4/30p same quality as the FZ1000 and some claim it has a better image stabilization system plus it has a bigger sensor 4/3. Interesting little camera.
