NAB STUFF

Let see if we can talk about new things in NAB 2015. There is a lot of stuff now appearing in Youtube.

Filmpower Nebula 4000 Handheld Gimbal looks very interesting. I wonder how if it can be used outside where wind is always causing vibrations if you have a light tripod.

I was playing with the Nebula at NAB. I think unless you're in a lot of wind it won't bother it.
Of course the same could be said for any stabilizer even an old school steadicam.

I wish I had ordered one during NAB as they were giving a $100 off coupon while the show was going on.
But I will definitely be getting one within the next couple of months.

By the way, I will order mine from this USA distributor.

They sell it at $25 more then film power but you get to talk to someone in the states if you have a problem with it.
(Unless you're not in the U.S.)
These are the guys I spoke to at NAB

This guy has a few videos on it. Also a pretty long video on balancing.

Im thinking of byuing the single axis (from them maybe) in the future for the s1 shark slider (which i dont have yet) .
Long shot, but has anyone bothered with the motion control system for the s1?

If your thinking of a pistol grip stabilizer their are also two other options. The first if Pilotfly H1 which looks very promising. The other is from the company Team Rebel Design (look them up on Facebook). The nebula and the pilotfly are 8 bit and require tools for balancing. The new one from Team Rebel Design has almost no information out about it yet although I have been in contact with the maker of the product. It will be 32 bit, has a remote control on the handle, tool less balancing, hard case and more. It will come in two varieties. One smaller version for cameras (the GH4 will work on this but is starting to push its boundaries) I think the smaller version is 8 bit. A larger version that will support the 5d Mark iii will also be released that is 32 bit. The smaller version is set to release on May 10. Unfortunately the larger version is slightly delayed but I haven't found out how much later it will be released. I have been looking into this market for sometime. After researching all the available gimbals I am definitely holding out to see what Team Rebel Design comes out with.

I liked the look of the Pilotfly H1 but would like to see more feedback, the customer service and product reliability from Nebula 4000 Film Works seem worrying. http://copter-rc.com/en/catalog/60-pilotfly-h1-handheld-3axis-stabilizer-for-mirrorless-camera.html

Just got word from the Team Rebel people. The Beholder Pro will be shipped May 15 at $499 plus shipping.

Is the Beholder rugged enough?

Dave dougdale is currently working on getting a review out. I don't know of anyone else who has actually used it yet.
