Lenses and the mk2

Eddie 10 Jun 2009 14:54
For the people here who shoot stuff with the mk2. What type of lens(es) do you use?
JHDT_Productions 10 Jun 2009 16:08
Until the new firmware I was using Nikon.
Now, I use a couple of Sigma lenses.
70-300 and a 24-70 that I just ordered but haven't used it yet.

I have the Sigma 24-70 EX DG Macro f;/2.8, and the following Canon lenses; 70-200 L f/4, 70-200 L IS f/2.8, 50mm f/1.8 and various other macro tubes and extension (2x) tubes. I'de guess that a majority of the time I shoot with the Canon 70-200 L IS f/2.8 since I do a lot of outdoor stuff. The DOF is perfect.

I shot this with the 70-300 DG. At about 100mm
ISO 3200. Man, what a great camera.

Jake,
How is the noise at 3200?

This one had some noise mainly in the shadow areas, I did use a small amount of noise reduction in After Effects. but the original looked pretty good.
Very impressive camera.

I like to have this camera with a movable monitor like the compact and video camera has. Why Canon do not give me....
Nikon D5000 has movable monitor which can shoot at low angle, but they has only 1280X720. No-body is perfect.

Oke so it looks like you guys use the 70-200 or 300 allot for video? Do you think thats also the best lens to start with?
JHDT_Productions 10 Jun 2009 18:11
Since I do a lot of close-up people type videos the 24-70 will be what I use the most.
I guess it depends on what you are doing.
