The every other DSLR and RED killer?

A rumor but I wouldn't doubt that Canon is testing such a full frame DSLR shooting raw.
If it is, I'll be in line to get one.

I saw that but I don't know if that is full 1080 from the 5D to the recording module.
I guess we'll see which rumor pans out.

lol I can shoot Raw right now.

Only problem is it outputs at 60frames and at a weird resolution less than HD. The magic lantern team will figure out how to get it to 30fps and 1080 HD, and when they do canon will have their update shortly afterwards.

5-15 MB per frame.

What CODEC could handle that?

Class 99 memory card.

CODEC is the antonym of RAW.
If it's RAW it cannot have CODEC. Am I right?

However, I do not understand Canon that limit the continuous recording time to 4GB. Why is it so difficult to start a new file as soon as the first one is full?

It''s an EU thing... Any device which records more than 15 or 20 minutes of video (I forget which) is classified as a Camcorder and is taxed at a higher rate than a still camera. I have no idea why...

Canon has stated they will not fix/change the recording length issue on still cameras until that law is changed.

If you want to shoot Raw with the 5d or 7d you dont use a memory card :P

Somethin' tells me that a 3rd party will soon release a new recording gadget/device that will plug straight in to the cameras from Canon (and others). Considering there is an HDMI port on some of these cams, it should be a no-brainer soon. Similar to the Firestore devices I would think. Just a thought.

Very true Vader. This would be awesome! And hopefully not too expensive.
