Here's a produce that does a far better job than the Bescor or Camranger. The Genie can time lapse or video in both pan/tilt. The Genie can also be mounted on slider for either video or time lapse.

This is video taken vadervideo from the Cosmopolitan penthouse in Las Vegas using the Genie. Yes it cost more but does so much more and worth very penny.

@Jason Many thanks for the info. crazy that it's priced at almost the same price in UK Pounds, but looks excellent.

If we are talking timelapse and pan or tilt only (not both at the same time) another great low cost device is the Alpinelabs radian.

Yes the Alpinelabs radian is a low cost device. But can it do any of the following.
Does it have an onboard computer for programming? No. Needs a smartphone.
Can do time lapse or video from a non-motorized slider? No.
The cost of a motorized slider cost several times more than the Syrp Genie let alone the cost of a smartphone if you don't have one

Youre right in everything you say, i never meant radian as a substitute for the syrp which is awesome by the way (and 3X more expensive), and propably my next buy,but just for the sake of conversation since you mentioned the smartphone prerequisite,i have to answer in that spirit with the same analogy, that if you dont already own a slider (and a very specific one like an indieslider) and the gear that comes with it, then half of the benefits of the surp is wasted on you.
And if you already have a slider that can do motion control and payed good money for it for motors/belts/controllers then the syrp is just a glorified egg timer.
Still better that the radian in every aspect, and a great buy if you mean to buy or already have all the gear necessary to use all of its capabilities (gear that isn't cheap) .

The Syrp Genie is a universal device. Hence it does not require proprietary sliders, belts, motors etc... and it can do pans real time or time lapse. Buying a slider set up where you are locked in to specific components is no longer a valid option. With the Genie one can put it on a variety of devices from skateboards to long sliders to single tripods. Try doing that with a "motion control and payed good money for it for motors/belts/controllers". Syrp's Genie "a glorified egg timer"? I beg to differ. Even if you do have one of those proprietary systems, you would be amazed what adding a Syrp Genie to such a system would accomplish. Think slide and pan at the same time for both real time and time lapse. That is why the Genie is so unique and powerful. It will work with just about anything else and then some.

You misunderstood, and maybe it was my fault for being a bit caustic, i know how syrp works. What im saying -and i really hate discussing on these terms because radian is nowhere as good as compared to syrp- is that one should buy the syrp only if he plans on utilizing ALL of its functions (for that price he better and there are a LOT of things as you said one can or could do with it) .Thats all.
But for simple timelapses, which i guess both these devices will do for most of their lives in the hands of the majority i would prefer something that is simple and cheap and not have a computer embedded to it because it makes things complicated and potentially expensive.
I didnt mean for this discussion to be a "this vs that" argument. It's clear who's winning here in specs.

To clarify on a previous confusion. If i bought a slider such as the edelkrone with the modules then what use would i have of the syrp?Sure its great to have but i have already solved my travelling movement problem.Would i be able or need to fit the cable syrp provides?Neither one.And it would be stupid since i have already paid so much money for the edelkrone. So all i need is a pan or tilt motion. The same applies im sure for other sliders too.maybe it fits ALMOST universally, why shouldnt it anyway? What happens if i already have an incompatible slider which i paid dearly?
If i dont have a slider then i would buy the simplest one such as the indieslider that works on carriage friction.
So in that aspect having a genie to go along is a rather subjective choise.

Hmm, when i see the Syrp Genie i'm really a little bit pissed off with my Camranger :(
I was really long time looking for something like this for panning and asked in all Photo Equipment Stores in my town, and nobody could help. Then after a whole while i found the Camranger Equipment in an online store and thought till now i could be happy.
The links which you guys post here are absolute unknown in Germany!

@Beckhusen you could contact http://syrp@syrp.co.nz directly to see if they have an outlet in Europe. It is a great product compared to other products on the market. The price for the Genie and their own 5.2" slider is only 1258.80 USD which is very inexpensive for an item that can do everything it can do all in one package.
