Windows 10

I would try Win10 only after release of first Service pack and for sure would not try on the workable machine. I'm 100% sure that all licensed software will not work after updating to Win10.

Adobe Photoshop, Bridge and Premiere Pro CC works just fine.

But what about older software versions? I will wait some months with W10.
For those of you who won't wait, Paragon offers his "Paragon Go Virtual 2015" for free in the moment.
That's a secure possibility not to loose your previous WIN.

Zygistudio,

There are not going to be Service Packs for W10. There will be incremental updates, bug fixes and enhancements on a regular basis, but no big update every couple of years. From what I'm reading on PC fora, it seems that there is no "let me know but don't update" option for domestic users, and updates will be automatically applied in the background whether you like it or not. It remains to be seen whether having updated W10 then immediately forces a reboot to finish the update.

Also, what happens if a user needs to shut down quickly while an unnanounced update is happening, say to board a 'plane? This auto-update could be expensive for people who are away from home and connect over 3G or 4G when they are close to their maximum data allocation. The Enterprise version of W10 will allow deferred updates.

I'm going to give it a couple of months for the wrinkles to be ironed out before I update the other PC. I'm still on XP on this computer, so a couple of months wait for the other machine to be updated won't hurt :)

Paul.

I finished my installation and everything seems to be working properly. No internet connection issues. Computer seems to be a little bit faster than with Windows 7.

Today all working well. Only glitch is the type size and window keeps changing between going from one screen to another. Not all the time but just a little gremlin.

W10 heavily accused of spying on you. Is that such a big deal? Are people being to extreme since there are cookies all over the internet?

Do you have anything to hide? Are you doing anything illegal? ... I know we want to be private. Everyone with a smart phone of tablet has no privacy, every app requires just about all information. There is very little personal data that is not already out there. There are few if any secrets left.

In setup you can turn off most if not all reports back to Microsoft.

The only thing I see is the occasional message that the internet super highway is too busy. Try again and it works. Most of these message I get while on P5 for some reason.
