I joined may this year and got my first sale only three weeks after, and i have less than 50clips of SD.so i guess the uniqueness of clips help.

Yea, judging by your portfolio, I guess I need to go to the zoo :P

I am new here too, and no sales yet (still a really small portfolio) but I have to admit that every one is really helpful here. Don't price your work too low, we don't want to create a clearance basement, a quarter earned for every download takes forever to make back your money, if you know what I mean ;) Have fun, that is the important part :) -Sandi

Remeber the average price under artist resources is for HD, S, and computer generated. Generally CG is lower, many only $10 or less so HD/SD footage has a much higher average price than what the general price suggests. If you look at best sales you will see los of $200 plus footage is sold very regularly. Make your footage quality and the buyers will be happy to give a fair purchase price. Good luck.

I don't remember how long after I first uploaded that I got my first sale. I price my SD 15-second clips at $29, which I think is a steel. If a client thinks it's overpriced, I would invite him to hire his own talent, film crew, and editor to get that 15-second clip, and then talk to me about price! So, yeah, even if it were $290, it would still be a sweet deal!

I joined a few days ago and havent had my first clip reviewed yet. I read from one of the posters here that it generally takes around 24h for clips to get reviewed. Right now is this still the case?

Thx

Yeah Bushman is here jambo jambo bushman!

It really varies for clip reviews, if they are really busy it could be a week, especially for a brand new portfolio. I would say the majority of the time we get really lucky and it's around 24h, but it's not what should be expected by any means. The nice thing is clips actually sell here so really even if it was two weeks to get things reviewed at least the clips sell here.

Thanks bushman, thats reassuring to know because im looking for a replacement site to stockxpert and they seem rather dead in the water, and up until now ive never heard of pond5.

See you around!

3 weeks to month for first sale, I think Marcus said something about it taking 3 months to get to all the servers

A replacement to stockxpert should be easy, lol... Any thing could replace them, you could probably stand on the street corner and hold up a cardboard sign and sell more clips then they do. That's about the most pathetic site I have ever wasted time on. They should make a sticky thread on there main page and just say we could care less about you and your time... There not even on there own forum ever. I bet I could probably go there and post 10 threads about how much they suck and it would take them two months to notice.
