Adobe and QuickTime

If this is the case still confusing since pjpeg a very old choice uses QT also. H264 doesn't support high bit rates captured by Canon 1dx mkii or 5d mk iv. I uploaded thousands last year and don't want to upload files that may have compatibility issues in future. But it seems none of the agencies are really concerned.

Animation would be for files that have RGBA (alpha xparency requirements) for pre-keyed footage for example. I did find that on the latest (CC2018) one can still bring in the conventional (pjpeg, png etc) quicktime codecs, even on windows 10 64 bit (of course - won't even worry about 32 bit anymore.
Simply go here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install-winpc/how-to-install-quicktime-on-a-pc-with-windows-10/95f13c0a-b593-4022-ba27-1cd18b255a9b
and follow the step by step given by microsoft. Don't just download and run! unzip or winrar first! Just as is stated. This will install the codecs and they will show up again as options and work in both AE, and Media Encoder from what i have seen so far. I have not checked Premiere yet, but would assume they are showing up there as well.
I post this with hesitance as I want it to be clear, I am not anyone's support person here. I will not answer questions on how to install etc... I am posting this as I personally found it to work very well. If you are negligent and don't follow instructions, then you are on your own. DO NOT message me for help. Use at your own risk is what I am saying. Good luck and good rendering. ;)

Andy,
Once I download how do I install?
Will it work on my Windows 3.1 machine? I think its 8 bit processor with a turbo button so it should be fast enough.
It has 4 megs of ram, is that enough?
Or should I get the new 286 machines I read about?
Thanks for the support.
Jake

Looks like it happened. If you like legacy codec support in Adobe on a PC and don't want to use a third party solution, don't update to the latest version (out today, 04/03/2018).

Just get yourself hooked up with aftercodecs: https://aescripts.com/aftercodecs/ - coming soon to a PC near you also will be supporting Media Encoder and Premiere Pro - the current version supports After Effects on a PC. Jake an I have been beta testing (Jake now for a full day and he seems to like it. No, he seems to really like it as it handles the raw from his Canon C200 really well) - But I will let you ask him as I don't want to speak on his behalf. :)

Yes, love it. Works great with the raw files. Really fast rendering even with adding things like red giant denoiser.

But ...
"Known Limitations
Don't use the ProRes for broadcast. Always test your hardware and software. It is a reverse engineered version of ProRes not approved by Apple ; for example ProRes 4444 Alpha channel not accepted by Blackmagic Hyperdeck Studio Mini."

I asked the same question.
The answer is you never use prores for broadcast anyway it’s converted to mp4 or some other delivery codec.
But maybe Andy will give the correct answer.
