views is definitely the key.
getting them by naming tracks so generically? (as you said, "rock track 1") ...i dunno,
but it sure sounds ridiculous.
what's wrong with creative titles?
and what if you have 50 rock clips and you name them all "rock track 1", "rock track 2" etc.,
then a client comes searching and he sees a bunch a numbers. i would skip over those items...
it's just annoying to the eye, to see clips named the same and only an added number at the end changed.
so i do hope you're wrong :|

however, could u expand a bit more on that change you made?
i mean, how were your tracks named before and in what way are you completely sure
that only the change of names into more generic ones brought you the added sales?
and exactly how in percentage did your sales increase after the title changes?

The plus to placing the music genre in the title on Pond5 is that it appears first in searches when Best Match is chosen. For example, search for Rock, Metal and Thrash; and first up is the tracks which contain the music style in the title. I don’t necessarily agree with this algorithm, but that’s the way it is.

well, i get it that you're not certain if the titles really brought those sales or it was something else.
it sounds kind of risky. and yes i searched for "rock happy", most of the first results had no "rock" or "happy"
in the title.
i am in doubts.
i'll ask the staff about this, if it really is a trick, it should be made clear by them.
but it really sounds strange, naming them like that.....
i'd agree with you if you were sure that that brought u sales, but u say u had a drop,
so in the end, that doesnt prove much...
i'll ask the staff...
thanx
