AVCHD? Another company that doesn't listen to what the market wants. Nobody likes AVCHD.

@gallofilm maybe the reason no one likes the format is that they haven't upgraded their systems to handle it. Personally I several cameras and AVC/H264 happens to be one of them.
Can your 5D Mll shoot 4K video for 2hours at 144Mbps? No. So why knock it because uses AVC/H264 format.

I think that in this camera, the final product, you can select between storing in MP4/h.264 or the more compressed AVCHD format. I believe that the original press release stated four streams of MP4/h.264 at 35mbs for a total of 140 mbs for 4k video.

Seems to be the four individual HD Streams rather than 1 "4k" video - which probably makes sense for most people!

It's a nice idea but the 4 cards and how it records the windowed AVCHD streams has got me avoiding it at all costs. Hopefully they'll have some nice software to combine the quadrants but I feel bad for the DITs stuck on set working with these...
