Prores on Windows 10 PC & Premiere Pro 2020

I've checked through the threads but can't find an up to date answer.
Up to now I've been in the dark ages and have been happily outputting my footage to Photo-Jpeg on Premiere Pro CS6.
Now I'm on Premiere Pro 2020 I'll have to make some changes, so....
I want to output to Prores (HQ? LT?) but have heard QuickTime is unsafe on Windows. Is this still correct? I've searched Google and cannot get a definitive answer.
I've always used .mov - what about mfx?
........So how to safely create .mov prores files from Windows10 & Premiere Pro?
If anyone can put me out of my misery so I can get back to production I'd really appreciate it.
Cheers, Paul

Uninstall Apple's QT from your system. Adobe now has native QT support in it's creative cloud apps. I bet Adobe paid dearly for this luxury.
Use LT or HQ as you see fit.

Since I still had a license for QT Pro I uploaded it and have been using it Premier Pro 2020 without problems. Although QT is no longer supported by Apple it still works.

Thanks for that - very helpful.
I've uninstalled QT and, as you say, Adobe can still output Prores. Done that and now see that the Prores files don't have thumbnails.
My other Photo-jpeg .mov files have thumbnails so am now googling to see if there's any way to get Windows 10 generate prores .mov thumbnails. No luck so far...

Icaros can provide Windows Explorer thumbnails, for essentially any video media format supported by FFmpeg
I use it all the time because Windows thumbnails are crap at best

QT on the Windows platform hasn't been updated for months and therefore will be a high security risk.

Great thanks, just what I wanted to hear - I came upon Icaros but always like to get confirmation before I download free software.
Thank you guys for the answers and comments - looks as though I'm now up and running and have changed from Photo-Jpeg to Prores.

I have used it for years now, if Windows updates itself you will have to drag any ProRes file into Icaros again for all the thumbnails to refresh & update, but it only takes seconds to do so, good for any other thumbnails that doesn't appear on the Windows platform, it's a mature program.
