hummmmm wonder how long it will take to get release out of "release" sub folder and make it usable ....... tick-tock tick-tock
edit:
Still not there yet ... well past the estimated 2-10 minutes I think.
Bring back a direct click to upload a release option please ;)

still not there yet .....
OK, gave up waiting for release folder on ftp. Used the link on the top of the upload page. Releases were updated immediately and available immediately. Time to just get rid of ftp method, use the link on the top of the page and Java it to P5 ;)

I guess it's true that you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

I usually have issues with the java uploader. Not sure what the deal is, probably my crappernets.

Basically we need to minimize the traffic to the web-server. Now no uploads (apart from the avatar) are hitting the server. Earlier there could be horrible traffic spikes making the site feel sluggish.
The top right link on the https://www.pond5.com/de/index.php?page=releases page is nice enough, no?
I profoundly hate Java. Hate is a pretty strong word that should not be abused when more appropriate gray shade terms like annoying, stupid, shit, hopeless etc are available, but in this case the use of the word hate is spot on. Apparently there's a shooting range in the US where ppl can bring computer equipment that has offended them and then basically shoot them to pieces. The very unfortunate aspect of software is that you cannot use this splendid opportunity to ventilate issues with annoying products.

As long as there is a quick easy non-ftp way to send a very simple small file size release it works great. I just didn't like the new trick ftp into a release folder cause it didn't work. Waited and waited and no release ever showed up. When I gave up and java loaded it the release was immediately available and immediately attached to the selected file. Sure seemed easier to me especial with a 200kb file.
Thanks for getting back, I agree Java and web uploads for large 500mb video files is real real bad ..yup in fact I hate it too. Java for 200kb file is fast and easy ... I luv ;)
