Looks like a winner. Been considering buying a GoPro for a while now. This might have won me over instead.

If you look at the demo on the first link, then go to the gopro site and look at the demo the gopro footage looks allot better.. Who knows what was done to it in post, but just looking at one then the other on only two sites, I lean toward gopro still..

I'm not really a camera guy though, or I don't really consider myself to be one.

Also 120 FPS isn't slow mo, even 300 FPS doesn't get me excited about slow mo.. This is nice though

When the Protune update does eventually come out for the GoPro it is going to allow 35 mbps second recording which is going to look great. You can see a comparison between the present compression and the Protune compression in these screen grabs here: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/attachments/new-micro-pov-camera-systems/26947d1339552102-gopro-protune-prorms.jpg
Click on the magnify option and see the jaggies disappear from the bottom picture!

But why 24p, I still believe for stock 30p is the standard and 24p is more a desire of the indie guys trying to be special. After talking to the GoPro guys at conferences and on telephone over the last few years I believe that the promo clips they show are extensively processed to remove vibration problems. I'm sure the Sony will have the same problems. This may drive the GoPro prices down with a valid competition. I've used the GoPro HD and HD 2 extensively on aircraft, motorcycles, cars etc. If there is an engine rhythm or vibration it is difficult to not have jello. We'll have to see if Sony is any better. I've been told by GoPro to film in 720 at 60 fps to help avoid this problem. Hope it gives them some competition.

now you can do 120fps with image stabilizer, it has to be better.

I had the same issue as Rekindle on aircraft and cars. They are still for specialized action stuff where sane people would not put a real camera.
