I suggest the following article for archiving and backup which I found very interesting.

Good article.
For personal use, that Backblaze seems to be pretty good.
But for me with video and backing up terabytes of data the business plan is still about $1K a year
Each year, I use up about 10-15 terabytes of drive space. I'd want to keep every year on their cloud service.
So I'm wondering if their "unlimited" is really that.

What I do is simple.
I upgraded my network to 2.5K so now I use my NAS for editing videos including 4k
The Synology NAS backs up to two redundant external drives. One I keep here, the other I bring offsite.
Every week or so I bring the offsite one back and update it.

Every year, I put both drives in storage and start the process with new external drives.
On the NAS I have the current year and the pervious year for quick recovery if I need something.

So, keeping an offsite HD is a pain, it's always been cheaper than cloud.

The cloud storage would be a great alternative but not if you want to keep a lot of data.

Thanks for sharing as it's good information for beginners just starting in this industry.

All my footage shot over the years is kept on 8TB hard drives. While all footage uploaded to P5 are kept on separate drives.

Due to the advances in software technology I am going through footage shot back in 2010 that was never uploaded and processing it.
