Its been over a year sense any one has talked about the Sony A77 so i thought i would ask because Im seriously thinking about buying one.
Its between the canon 60d or the sony a 77 The specs and reviews seem point toward the Sony as being better, but I love Canon so its a hard choice.

The Sony does have 60fps at 1080 so that's cool.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would still go for CANON 70D although I prefer the GH3 over Sony. Sony lenses are so expensive.

A recent discussion on one of the photo sites was talking about the brands and all the ancillary support tools and goods for them. A question was asked why some devices aren't available for Sony (flash units etc..) but only for Nikon and Canon. The reason was simple: market share. Sony does make nice video cameras and is a leader in that segment, but when it comes to DSLR's, they only have about a 12% share (or less) according to the stats. Hence, third party doesn't play with Sony DSLR's

Here was the conversation:
Why are most things made for Canon and Nikon cameras. There are other cameras in the DSLR market, for example the Sonys can easily compete with the Canons and Nikons with some of the unique stuff they have (like sensor shift focus and SLT technology). What about Pentax or Olympus, they also make DSLRs.

Because 75% of the market is being serviced by Canon and Nikon combined. With Sony being around 12% and the rest of the brands combined the remainder, it is not the most interesting business proposition to cater outside Canon and Nikon.

Thanks for the Reply guys , I never even thought about not being able to find accessories. and i had no idea the Sony lenses are more expensive.
If the 70D didn't cost so much that's what I would buy.

You can buy 70D body only for 1199.00 and you already have the lenses.
