Cookies problem

I am running the latest version of IE7 and the latest version of Firefox.
Once upon a time, the "results per page" used to be "sticky" in that I could set the value once and a cookie would be set in my browser.
The cookie appears to be broken as every day it resets back to 50. And when I set it to a higher value, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't for that session.

Some time ago we started to reset the search options. The scenario of a user limiting the search by say format, forgot he did and got back a week later and got no search results seemed like a bad scenario.
Agreed, resetting results per page is not really necessary and has been removed.

Results per page is still resetting. I just changed it to 200, closed Firefox and came back to the site and it's 100.
