Slow motion footage sales

The whole moire thing has me a bit hesitant. Is it easily viewable on the (lcd)monitor?
Good point Normstock, regarding deep DoF and running and gunning. That's why I haven't ruled the x920 out altogether! Once I can compare footage I'll have a better idea of what to go for, but some of these cameras cost more than what's in my price range. I'm sure the GH4 is going to be up there in price too. Well, compromises compromises.

The obvious moire is visible in the viewfinder at 960fps. This was wood end grain. Didn't notice any significant problems besides noise at 480, and lots less at 240. I have seen it here and there out and about though. It's not horrid, but it is there. Nobody uses 960fps on the FS700 - unless they are playing around, like I was. Do they?

well I've made up my mind given the opinions here and comparing footage online and of course that all important budget factor. I ended up going with the 600D, I've seen some great stuff shot on it here at Pond5 plus I needed a good stills camera for time lapse shots and I might dabble in still photography down the road. Anyway, thanks for your guys' input!
That FS700 is still in the back of my mind though... well maybe once it drops in price a few grand!

Probably a good choice. Half the time the FS700 is a royal PITA due to its size. For planned/studio shooting this is not an issue, but hauling it around and the slower time deploying it when in a hurry add to the reasons it's not a great run and gun cam. It's not just size, the necessary complexity adds to the issue.

I'm going through some older footage right now- seeing stuff shot on Z5U, V1U HDV cams (no comparison, really, with some exceptions depending on the light) and the 5dm2 as well as T2i, and the FS700 stuff is much better though....yes folks, the 28Mb/s AVCHD trumps the 50 Mb/s DSLR codec. (Also better with moire')

Always a tradeoff.
