Uncompressed video is over rated... Thats not something pros want.
Actually the only thing that is TRUELY uncompressed is film, and you lose a lot of quality on that when you make print transfers.
Red has somehow convinced people the uncompressed is good, and yes you can increase contrast without creating artifacts. BTW I know I brought this up before, but here is the sensor size chart again:

Really puts things in perspective when you see that chart and the size of the 5d.
