There's always a new camera on the horizon.

There is, and I probably would have been very happy with the a7Rii, but I can wait another month :-). I am ordering the assassin for my rx10ii and then also for the a7rii. Still trying to decide what lens to go with. I have the 50mm f1.8 from sony I'm going to play with on there at first.

From the specs, I read that Battery life (CIPA rating) is only 380 shots with the 1,080 mAh. Supposing I double that with the additional Vertical Battery Grip. That makes 760 pics. How can I shoot a 1200 pic timelapse like I used to do with my Canon 5D II? and it's becoming more expensive with the grip and extra batteries?!

And yet only 12MP for the A7s II ...

I'm excited for the 12mp version more than the 42mp. Lower mp = higher sensitivity/lower noise. The a7s is a low light beast, and the ii is supposed to be a little better, but main feature is internal 4k.

Dummy battery: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171742343547

Or you can get a similar adapter if you have v-mount batteries or want to use dual sony npf batteries.
But with the v-mount adapter you can power monitors recorders etc so it's more versatile if you want to build a rig around the A7S.

The A7Sii seems to have the same overheating issues at 4K like the A7Rii since we are on the subject.
Still,oh the things i would do with her....

Yes, they have the same body.
I remember GoPro 3 had overheating issues. It took them one year to provide firmware update that made that camera usable for me.

a7sii hasn't even been field tested or anything released, so who knows on overheating. A7s itself didn't overheat, so maybe they've come out with a heat sink to the memcards.
I'm going to external record either way on whatever I get, so the internal will only be in emergency, and how many stock clips do you guys shoot over 20 seconds?
