Camera For A Novice.

Tunesflash 8 Mar 2016 13:58
Hi All.

I could really use some advice from people who know their cameras from somebody who knows nothing!!
I have a birthday coming up soon and I would like a good camera.
I would like to use if for making movies with iMovie but I would also like it to take good quality still pics.
The budget would be approx $500/$600 but if there was a fantastic camera for a bit more than that then please suggest it.

Thanks in advance.

Michael.

Hi Michael,
You could go with the Canon rebel models. This T5 kit comes with 2 lenses that would cover just about anything you need.
Of course as you progress you could get better lens but for now this will get you where you need to be.

The other thing you'll need is a tripod with a video fluid head. That too can be had for about $100 or so to start.
Ebay is a great place for used equipment.

A few bucks more than you want, but this is a good camera. Not sure about buying from buydig... but look around and see what is would cost from a reputable dealer.

Scott,
That link went right off the page. Does it look like that to you?
just wondering if that is a bug with the forum.

Ya the test ran away. I reported that bug in a thread but no response or acknowledgement from P5.

Many years ago I bought a camera from BuyDig and they shipped just as fast as B&H or Adorama.
