How to add background in imported png sequence ?

Whatever i try, i don't get it :(

I imported a png sequence with moving object and transparent bg in a new composition.
Then (or also before) i opened a color layer with ramp effect.
Why is the color layer bg not visible behind the png sequence. Does anybody know the trick or is it not possible ?

Did you check how the sequence got interpreted? If you're not sure, right-click the sequence in the project list, choose "Intepret footage" then "Main". There are 3 options there, it should not say "Premultiplied". If it does choose "Straight - unmatted".

Did you double-check that the PNG files are saved with alpha-channel (RGBA) and not just (RGB)?

I assume you put the gradient on a separate layer and placed it below the sequence layer?

That's curious, now it works perfect, although i'm sure i had tried out the same layers setup / arrangement before.
All i did now was deleting the sequence and layer, then opened a new gradient layer and imported the sequence above it.
Easy as it should be!
Hope i get soon more familiar with AE.

Boah, same problem again although it worked before in another composition with gradient bg :( :( :(
Import a png sequence ("footage" is only option), place it above another layer with also png sequence (background scene), but the upper png sequence with moving person has no transparent bg :( :( :(

But when i import a single image from this sequence and place it the transparent bg works very well and is not visible. (?)
