Alpha channel in clips with PNG compression

Hello,

May be this was discussed before, but I noticed that for potential buyer there is NO WAY to find a clips with PNG+ compression and alpha channel. For such clips I marked 'contains alpha matte' but it seems this apply only for alpha / luma mate in attachement file.

I suggest at least to change the "Includes Matte: Yes" in clip details info. Checkerboard background pattern thumbnail image also would be nice to have for such clips.

There are only few Stock agencies around which accept clips with Animation and PNG+ compression, but it is useless because end-user can't see nor find such clips.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Although it is poorly worded, I too check the "contains alpha matte" for my PNG encoded clips. I also try to make sure I put that info in the description and keywords.

Yes, P5 should make a special check box - something along the lines of "this is a 32 bit with alpha channel pre-keyed (chroma-key) clip".

dnavarjojr says: "I too check the 'contains alpha matte'". But where buyer can see this or search for this or compressor type? As of my knowledge it does not appear in clip details page. But for sure these 2 things are in the database - I can see it for old clips in verbose listings.

Buyers search by keywords, so that is THE most important thing is to make sure you have the correct info in your keywords. Second most important thing is to be sure it's clearly stated in your description so that when a buyer views your clip, it's right there.

If Pond5 had one of those fancy search forms with a billion search options that intimidate the hell out of everyone, then I think it would matter more.
