How simple of a solution. Editorial of course. Why didn't I think of that. Now I can wade through 28000 + clips to find exactly what I need. Guess you don't get the POINT.

I think you've hit the nail right on the head: the searchbox is much more useful than categories.

Categories are not all bad, in fact if there are enough and used properly they are fine. If categories are eliminated completely it might me a negative since other stock agencies still use them. We have to do what the buyer is used to using. Category and keyword proper use is so very important. Probably better to have categories, just a few more to better describe footage.

Then categories should only be:

1. Animal
2. Mineral
3. Vegetable
4. Everything Else

Categories are only useful if they are actually used. But on any site with more than just a few thousand clips I can't see any buyers actually just browsing through categories for clips. I would imagine they'd all be "searching" for what they need.
