downloadable previews

With the finding that people are downloading the previews and removing the Pond5 logo.
I would like to suggest that the download button only be seen after you login.
That way it's only legitimate buyers being able to download the preview.
Right now anyone can click on a video and download the preview without even having an account.

Agree completely Jake, there has to be a way to prevent these comps from being used in illegal ways.

Good idea. Perhaps the downloaded version should have an even more obtrusive watermark.

I agree too, it's really unfortunate that some thing that Pond5 did to help people that are on the fence about buying a clip is being abused. I know there is always going to be people out there trying to take advantage so I don't fault Pond5 for any of this. Maybe it's time to look into bigger steps towards stopping piracy.

Maybe a randomly changing water mark or one that moves around the video instead of stationary in the middle. This would make it more difficult to remove.

kind of a good idea Don, but if it moved randomly then people would just trim the clip to a spot where there wasn't a logo

People who are intent on stealing will continue to steal. The best thing you can do is just make it as difficult as possible and move on...

I agree with only allowing previews to be downloaded if you are logged in with an account.
