Nice approach. I started with Panas GH1 and still have tons of equipment.

But since I changed to Canon the Pana stuff stays at home. My main reasons:
- The avchd compression with only 17 mbps produced too much artefacts. Water tends to look like knitted paper and grass like smudge.
- The scenes often have viewable interruptions. I don't know why. The Canon (only the Rebel T3 or in Europe 600D) don't behave like this.
- Worst thing - and that is immanent for the whole mFT world: the small sensor! It is very hard to get shallow depth of field effects. You need more light. Even blue hours and sunset moments don't have enough light. And yes - of course I had the f1.7 pancake and even f1.4 adapted lenses.

Especially because of the last point I cannot imagine working again with mFT..
Maybe Panasonic did some work on the first items since the GH1. I noticed that the GH2 got good reviews for the video results. No bashing - this is my personal experience.

If someone is interested: I discussed advantages and disadvantages between the Canon and the Panasonic universe more in detail in my blog: http://www.drgellner.de/blog/2011/05/being-a-panasonic-photo-and-videographer-ii/

I agree the GH1 is soft, and flarey and generally unusable - Garbage.
And it cost 500 quid! 500 for a broadcast quality camera?
Pana have got such a cheek, I’m going to ask for my money back.
