Looking at getting an EX1 or waiting until next year and deciding if the C300 is something to invest in...
What do you guys think? What is the 'best' camera out there right now? I love my Mark II, but sometimes miss the feeling of a real video camera.
I'm going to sell my FX100. Anyone interested??? Great camera for run and gun stuff, just time for me to upgrade.

How much for the fx1000?
I'm waiting to see what the final price for the C300 is. If it stays at $20K or close I'll pass. But if its more of $14K or less I'm getting it.
You know my view of cameras. I hate the everything in focus look that smaller sensor cameras give. But I do need a run and gun camera for interviews, sports, family etc. so I'll be getting something that will give great quality. Like the EX1 or something slightly less expensive.
But for stock, only large sensor camera for me.

Everything is larger in Texas.
Not sure what to ask for the fx1000 yet... I've not used it that much over the last 2 years, I need to get an hour count on it. It still sells for what I purchased it for, which is crazy because the Mark II has gone down about 800 bucks since I got it.

"What is the 'best' camera out there right now?" I was hoping for you to tell me. Wait for P. Bloom comparison between the C300, F3, FS100, and AF100.
Or you can by a dozen T2i's at BHphoto......
"sometimes miss the feeling of a real video camera" - Then the Canon XF300 may be the camera you are looking for since its footage is accepted by BBC straight from the camera. The EX1 requires a nano flash, under BBC specs.

I have the AF101/100 and it's a fantastic piece of equipment. The only thing that lets it down is the lack of a powered zoom, but I believe there IS a way of attaching a B4 lens and powering it up (have to use the doubler). I always use mine with Nikon or Canon primes for stock, and with a Ninja it's still a lot cheaper than the Canon C300. For stock it's ideal, but I;m with kk5hy about a run and gun. Sometimes you HAVE to have one for jobs.

Don't bash me but for fast run & gun I use the incredibly sharp Panasonic TM900 at 1080/50p. It's a consumer camcorder but because it's so small and lightweight I carry it always with me. Under certain conditions it also replaces my HVX200. The handling is a little bit awkward because of the consumer touchscreen but if you get used to it, it's okay.
It records at a higher bitrate (28Mbit) than standard AVCHD allows. It has a good lcd with blue focus peaking, histogram, zebra pattern, full manual control and so on. For a consumer camcorder that costs 600,- (on B&H) it has really cool features. I've also did some color correction tests through DaVinci Resolve Lite and I can push the colors quite much until they fall apart. (Check my blog entry for more info).
I didn't had my hands on a C300 by now but I think that's the way to go and I will get one if the price drops a little bit.

There are 2 FS100 cameras at the used department of BHphoto for about $4200. P. Bloom should have his review ready for next week. AF100, I like it over the FS100. kk5hi, I am sure the C300 is going to be introduced in USA at lower price than the F3. Hopefully $12k but I personally think it should cost the same as the XF305 / $8k.
jetsetmodels, are there SDHC Cards adapters for the P2 cards yet just like for SS cards?

I don't believe there are luxor... I was looking into that. I have all the EX1 stuff in my shopping cart... it is going to be about $7300..
Here's what I'm looking at:
Camera
Filter
Extra battery
4x 16gb cards SD
2x Efilm SD card SxS
3 year warranty

Nope no SDHC adapters for P2.
@dapoopta: I wouldn't invest $7300 in the old technology of the EX1. Only if you think you will produce that much to get the cash back within the next year.
