FileZilla problem

wideweb 3 Jul 2011 21:10
I am uploading files as usual, but something strange happens. Once a file is completely uploaded, it "stays" with one (1) second left for uploading. Always one second, though the file is completely uploaded in terms of bytes. If I want to upload another file, I have to clear the uploaded file from the least. (it happens with other sites as well). I am using the latest version.

What happened? How do I proceed automatically to the next file, as it used to be in the past?

I've had it do the same a few times. Reset the files and hit continue and it will upload the last second and more on.

Did not help. I had to delete the files from the list.
Maybe I do not understand the term: "reset the files".
What action reset the files?

What I have had to do is go to the bottom where either the file is in failed transfers or successful transfers. Left Click on the file and then right click and select "reset and requeue selected files". Then start the transfer again as continue not over write. It has worked for me. Then Good luck.

These files remain as "queued files" since their upload is not completed - one second to go. I cannot perform what you suggested.

darn, don't know then.

I have done some additional readings and experiments. The problem occur with some sites and does not occur with other sites. That immediately means that the problem is not on my computer. According to the forums on FileZilla, both client (my FileZilla) and host (eg pond5) have to tell each other that the upload has been completed. If client does not get this message "close_notify" in a preset time, it starts to re-upload the file. If I leave FileZilla to run overnight, those files that hang up at the last second will eventually start uploading again and again making a new copy on P5 every time. I am sure MARCUS is aware of that problem, an expensive problem. In the morning I have to clean up my duplicate and triplicate uploads.

Since this problem cost money to users and P5 as well, I am asking MARCUS to look for a solution. It clogs and overpopulates the FTP servers, causing delays in the availability of the files.

It seems that some old primitive outdated clients ignore the problem and terminate the uploads properly.

@wideweb The only setting make in FileZilla is to the number of clips you want upload at the same time.

Yes, I have been having similar problems. I have to monitor the transfers as they get "stuck" also. It's a bug, apparently. I fixed it by deleting the corrupted files on the receiving end (you'll need to make a note on their status) and resubmitting. The problems does not happen with CyberDuck...

Current status is that I shortened the time-out period to 10 seconds. Now the upload of each file is terminated by means of rejection. Let's see what happens overnight.
